Interesting note: My Vic was part of the Livermore, California, Police Department. After I selected Measure 32, the pattern shown above, I discovered that the Navy had a destroyer called USS Livermore that wore the same measure of dazzle camouflage. Livermore survived the war and was decommissioned in 1947.
I’ll spray it with Rustoleum.

I like the idea, especially with the cool connection. It’s not just “camouflage” but an homage to its former life! The masking and surface prep will easily be the most important part of such a livery.

Yeah. I’ve never painted a car before except with rattle cans. I’ll practice painting it solid colors before I start playing with the masking. Rustoleum is $10.99 per quart so do-overs aren’t the end of the world.

I spent about 2.5 hours adapting the design to the vector graphic of the Vic and the more I look at it, the more I like it. And it does as intended, breaking up the lines and shapes inherent in the design of the Vic. I’ll be spraying it with Rustoleum, at $10.99 per quart, so if I have to respray, it won’t break the bank.

As Captain of the Livermore, you’re going to need an appropriate uniform. May I suggest an officers uniforms circa 1830-1841, complete with sabre and mutton chops?

B y that logic your car is also from the wrong era.
I’ve got some Utilities you can have, they are pretty close to the dungarees that would have been worn by the WWII era crew. (Not me pictured)

Interesting thought. One step at a time...
